Welcome to our Year 6 page.

There are two classes in Year 6: 6AL and 6TD.

The Year 6 team is made up of Mr Dent, Miss Raju-Lamprey, Miss Dolphin and Miss Nessa.

Learning in Year 6
As Year 6 is the last year for our primary aged children, we want to ensure that our pupils leave Mansfield Green E-ACT Primary Academy with all the necessary skills to help them flourish and transition well into secondary school life and beyond.

We ensure that subject knowledge is secure in all subjects. It is also the year of the KS2 SATs where pupils will undertake statutory assessments in Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling, Reading and Mathematics.

PE
PE takes place every Thursday.

Homework
Homework is set on a Thursday and is due by the following Tuesday.

Reading

Reading is an essential life skill and we believe that all children should be given an opportunity to read often. All children in Year 6 are given a book that is suited to their reading stage and they will also have the opportunity to choose a choice book.  Please read with your child at home and let us know how they have got on with their reading by leaving a comment in their reading records.  We want to ensure that our Year 6 pupils are fluent and confident readers with the ability to comprehend what has been read.
