The Modern Foreign Language Spanish curriculum at Mansfield Green E-ACT Primary Academy aims to equip pupils with the knowledge and skills required to enable them to confidently express their opinions and ideas in Spanish. Our aim is to give our KS2 children a solid foundation and provide them with a love of Spanish that ensures they leave Mansfield Green confident to continue their language study.
We want our pupils to have a genuine interest and curiosity about foreign languages, finding them both enjoyable and stimulating. Learning Spanish offers pupils the opportunity to explore relationships between language and identity, develop a deeper understanding of other cultures and the world around them with a better awareness of self, others and cultural differences.
We lay down solid foundations by ensuring that the key learning skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing are taught effectively with the necessary grammar. This will enable pupils to use and apply their learning in a variety of contexts.
The Spanish curriculum at Mansfield Green E-ACT Primary Academy has been chosen to ensure that all KS2 classes have access to a high-quality foreign language curriculum which progressively develops pupils’ skills. Lessons follow a clear sequence of learning, allowing opportunities for deliberate practise and memory recall.
Our aim is to ensure that our pupils, with a love for modern foreign languages, are well-equipped to continue their language journey and are successful individuals in their chosen field.
